Resources for Puja items:
Items for Puja can often seem very daunting to buy or expensive, but they don't need to be. When you have absolutely nothing, I always recommend just offering a flower at a stone with some rice grains and a coin and praying to whatever devatha you want. But, the devathas do prefer when you use their traditional items, so here are some links for what I use: Puja Sarjam (Ingredients) Kumkum/Sindoor Haldi Chandan Paste, Dry Powder Akshatas- Make your own using rice, a little turmeric, and a drop of ghee Tambulam/Soopari Camphor Sambrani resin Khus Khus Perfume Kuthu Vilakku Diyas for when you need 7/8/9 Diwali diyas Cloves Cardamom Bamboo for flags Flag cloths Dhaar Lotas Puja Herbs Mustard oil Ghee Gingelly oil Turmeric root Sugarcane water Coconut water Sugarcane Sesame (Til) Nutmegs Navakastam Havan wood Havan samagri- I always recommend making your own using the herbs you use in puja: tulsi, paan, mango leaf, turmeric root, cloves, cardamom, cinammon, betel nut, benzoin, durvam, puja flowers, basically any plant material used in puja, let it dry and use as hawan samagri.
